Work began in March 2000 with the seatdeck for 'proto 1'. There were so many unknowns at this stage, it was made of plywood so that it could be easily chopped about if need be.

The production of the prototype hulls went to the 'Advanced composite Manufacturing Centre' at Plymouth University, where Julian Spooner did a great job of hand-shaping the plug from my 'lines'.
