It was getting on for midnight on the eve of the Show we had loaded the car with the boat, and the exhibition stand, and I was pretty well done in. At which point Alison, my amazing wife, took control of what looked like a hopeless situation, and drove the laden car and me, through the night, up to Wiltshire. There my brother-in-law took over and, with some other help, we managed to get the stand erected in time for an interview with Richard Hammond for an ITV programme about the Boat Show totally mad! The ten-day ten-till-eight Boat Show was, by the way, a wonderful rest cure! |
